Music is the Muse
Music is the fix that changes the landscape when we need it most. It fuels
our creativity, heals us, consoles us, gives us hope, expresses our
political views, and let's us feel what we need to feel in a world that is
often spinning way too fast.
For both Charl & I, music is the muse. Charl is a designer and I'm a writer
and we've worked together and collaborated on a number of projects for over 10 years. During that time, we’ve spent countless hours talking about
music, trading music, and listening to live music in the many great haunts
of NYC.
We began with 10 CDs that really matter to us, and now we're going to regularly add more picks to the mix. There are
so many artists out there that don't get the attention they deserve. Some
of the greatest songwriters working today are often known by a relatively
small circle of music junkies and critics. This is just our small way of
supporting those artists, and hopefully with the viral power of the Net
giving more people an opportunity to discover great music that they may not
find otherwise.
Songwriting is still one of the most potent forms of storytelling. May you
hear a story on any of these CDs that changes you and gives you a piece of
something that you never had before.
