Carey Earle, chief idea farmer
Green Apple Marketing, Inc.

carey earleFrom American Express and MasterCard to IBM and Sprint, Carey has crafted brand strategy and marketing messages for some of the world’s most respected brands, while championing small businesses and entrepreneurs. She brings energy and authenticity into any boardroom, and can also chew three Altoids® at once, and still carry on a coherent conversation.

A frequent speaker regarding marketing and branding trends, she has appeared on CNNfn, CNBC, Bloomberg and PBS. She was featured in a documentary about women business owners called “Alpha Female,” and has also been quoted in a number of publications including: The New York Times, Fortune Small Business, Business Week, Working Woman, Adweek and American Demographics.

She has published a number of articles and white papers including: The Yin and Yang of Marketing Measurement; How to Create an Iconic Brand; Marketing to Single America; FWD: This Made Me Laugh, How Viral Parodies Impact Brands; and Brand Sense, a look at sensory branding.

Prior to Green Apple, Carey co-founded Harvest Communications, a marketing and branding firm on Fifth Avenue serving many of the leaders in the financial services industry. She began her career as a copywriter and account manager at Young & Rubicam and Grey Advertising.

Carey is an adjunct instructor of marketing at New York University, has lectured at New York University's Stern School of Business and also taught a marketing management course at her alma mater, American University. In 2000, she developed a writing program for corporations called WriteVoice™ that teaches business people how to write effectively and powerfully in today’s information overload. Since then, hundreds of people have experienced WriteVoice™ and are converts to the power of clarity and simplification in business writing. She also conducts marketing workshops for entrepreneurs at the Brooklyn Business Library.

Carey earned a bachelor’s degree from American University. She has served as President of the American University Alumni Board, and currently serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Communication. She also sits on the advisory board of the Brooklyn Business Library, and is a member of the Women President’s Organization.

A native of Vermont, Carey returned home to the Green Mountain State in 2004 after living in NYC for almost 20 years. Now, she runs her business from a log cabin in Southern Vermont. You’ll still find her in the Big Apple meeting with clients and getting her urban fix. She likes to wind down with her husband, photographer Fran Janik, mooing at the moon from the deck of their log cabin. Consider it an invitation to “Come by anytime.”
